Leaders, faculty, staff and students from across LSU's system celebrated LSU Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.$543 million dollars in combined research activity across all campuses is one of many achievements highlighted by student and faculty as they interacted with lawmakers.

Danielle Gipson, an LSU senior honors student majoring in biochemistry, has researched both the medical and social aspects of Louisiana's high breast cancer death rate, helping to shine a light on the issue and bring hope for a multi-faceted approach to solving it.
