Two LSU Manship School Students Win Hearst Journalism Awards in Audio, Sports Writing Competitions
The Hearst Journalism Awards Program, known for recognizing excellence in college-level journalism, has announced its latest round of winners, and two students from LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication have reason to celebrate.

LSU is one of the top three universities for loop quantum gravity research in the United States.
- LSU Shatters Record for Largest Spring Graduating Class, Awards 4,949 Degrees During Spring Commencement CeremoniesLSU awarded 4,949 degrees during the university's 313th commencement exercises Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18. These new LSU alumni and their hometowns can be viewed on the LSU Graduates List on the LSU Commencement Website. The previous record was 4,563 in Spring 2022.
- 2024 LSU Leadership CohortLSU has recognized 16 students as the Class of 2024 for Leadership LSU, an annual program coordinated by LSU Campus Life. The cohort was honored at a closing lunch on April 25, where each participant received a Leadership LSU stole.
- LSU Awards 26 Seniors the Engaged Citizen MedalThe Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership (CCELL), in conjunction with LSU Campus Life, is pleased to announce that 26 seniors will graduate with the Engaged Citizen distinction for Spring 2024. Students were recognized and awarded medals in a ceremony on Tuesday, May 14 on the LSU campus.
