- Spring 2024 Rucks Fellows AnnouncedThe Rucks Department of Management at the E. J. Ourso College of Business acknowledges outstanding students as Rucks Fellows. These students are chosen by the faculty and represent the highest level of academic achievement among senior management majors in any of the department's concentrations. To be eligible, the student must be among the top graduating seniors in the management curriculum based on their grade-point average; honorees are announced in the fall and spring semesters.

- LSU Libraries Hosts 2024 Audubon DayFor its annual Audubon Day, LSU Libraries will host a viewing of the famed double elephant folio edition of John James Audubon’s Birds of America (London, 1827-1838) on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Hill Memorial Library on LSU’s main campus. Audubon was a talented and complicated artist, naturalist, and ornithologist. His illustrated compendium of the birds in the United States, Birds of America, is considered one of the finest ornithological works ever completed.

- LSU Professor Kermit Murray Selected Senior Member of National Academy of InventorsRoy Paul Daniels Professor of Chemistry Kermit K. Murray has been selected a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors. This year's class comprises 124 accomplished academic inventors representing 60 research universities, governmental entities and nonprofit institutes worldwide. The Senior Member program is an exclusive award created to showcase the innovative ecosystems at NAI member institutions, like LSU, which provide the supportive environment to foster novel discoveries. - LSU Business Student Earns Third Place in National Cyber Threat CompetitionLSU Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) major Daniel Lichowid Jr. placed third in the 2024 Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Cyber Threat Competition, held at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas from Feb. 15-17. Out of approximately 1,500 students, Lichowid was one of 60 individuals to move onto the final round, cementing himself in the top 5% of all participants.

With the advancement of renewable resources come questions about how they will affect humans and the environment. LSU Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Chris Kees understands this curiosity and is working alongside LSU School of Landscape Architecture Professor Fabiana Trindade da Silva and LSU School of Renewable Natural Resources Professor Brett Wolfe to study the effects of solar farming in the state.
- LSU Alumni Association announces its 2024 Hall of Distinction classDr. William A. Brookshire, co-founder and longtime chairman of S&B Engineers and Constructors, was named the 2024 LSU Alumnus of the Year. Seimone Augustus, former Tiger and WNBA Great, was named Young Alumna of the Year. Dr. Brookshire is being recognized posthumously.
- LSU's Andrew Maas named chair of global nonprofit AUTMAndrew J. Maas, associate vice president for research overseeing the LSU Office of Innovation & Ecosystem Development, has been named board chair of AUTM, a global nonprofit whose members support the commercialization of academic research. Maas has more than 16 years of experience in technology licensing and commercialization. He succeeds Almesha L. Campbell, PhD, assistant vice president for research and economic development at Jackson State University. Maas's term as chair ends in February 2025.
