BATON ROUGE, LA - Doctoral candidate, Yazmyn Smith, was named Outstanding Mid Level Professional of the Year by the Louisiana Association of College & University Personnel Administrators (LACUSPA) during their 48th annual conference in Baton Rouge that took place on October 1st-3rd.

Smith is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Research with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. She is also past president and outreach chair of the school’s Higher Education Student and Professional Association (HESPA). She currently works at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond as the Title IX Specialist.

LACUSPA is an organization dedicated to servicing higher education professionals, students and associates in the state of Louisiana. Recipients of this award are chosen for their dedication and excellence to the field in areas including, but not limited to, work with student development, assisting new professionals, service for their university, active participation in professional organization(s), collaboration efforts, innovation, or advising accomplishments.
