September - National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. During this month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness.

We all play an important role in suicide prevention awareness.

Whether you're a mental health professional, an academic researcher, a student, or a community member--your understanding and willingness to take action can move the conversations surrounding suicide forward and have a meaningful effect in someone's life.

During Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline encourages folks to know the risk factors, know the warning signs, and be empowered to help through conversation or directing those who need support to crisis resources.

Consider taking a moment to learn about how you can help prevent suicide by visiting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline website.

Wanting to participate in your own community? Become a trained volunteer and provide support for people in crisis.
