Dr. Julie Buckner received the G. Alan Marlatt Mid-Career Research Award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Addictive Behaviors Special Interest Group (SIG)! The award is in honor of Dr. G. Alan Marlatt for his distinguished career as a pioneer and innovator in cognitive-behavioral therapy and research on addictive behaviors. It is given to deserving Addictive Behaviors SIG members whose research demonstrates scientific rigor and constitutes a program of research, including a focus on understanding mechanisms of addiction or advancing evidence-based clinical practice in the addictions. Research that addresses harm reduction or treatment innovations is particularly consistent with Dr. Marlatt’s research emphasis.
