NROTC Unit, Southern University and A&M College to host an Aviation Static Display on LSU's Campus.

Baton Rouge, LA-- On Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Unit, Southern University and A&M College will host an Aviation Static Display on the field adjacent to LSU’s Natatorium.

The Aviation Display will allow LSU students, as well as the community, the opportunity to gain insight into the community of the Department of Defense Aviation. Additionally, viewers will be allowed to tour aircrafts that they do not typically see on a day to day basis. The display will be led by Captain Andrew Kettner, Marine Officer Instructor of the NROTC at Southern University and A&M College. Captain Kettner believes that the Aviation Static Display will help increase public awareness of not only the Department of Defense Aviation, but also of life in the Marine Corps. With the assistance of Major Douglas Howard and Lt.Col Romero, Commanding Officer, is to inform LSU students of the opportunities they could pursue within the Marine Corps.

The Aviation Static Display will feature two helicopters from the Marine Light Attack Helicopters Squadron stationed in Belle Chasse, LA. The two helicopters used for the display are known as Marine Corps Huey and Marine Corps Cobra. The helicopters will arrive on campus at 8 a.m., with information sessions and tours to follow until 12:30p.m.
