Kent Broussard is a 66-year-old freshman playing the tuba in LSU's Golden Band from Tigerland. Following his life long dream of playing with the Tiger Band, Kent enrolled in LSU this fall and auditioned for the band.

Most people think of retirement as slowing down—but not Kent Broussard. At 66, he enrolled at LSU and, after not playing an instrument for 45 years, marched his way into the Golden Band from Tigerland. From a lifelong fan with an old Tiger Band LP to a sousaphone player on Victory Hill, Kent’s journey proves it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Along the way, he discovered the power of teamwork, tradition, and the Tiger Band family that lifts each other up.
