- Geaux Serve - School Alumni, Faculty, and Students' Day of ServiceIn the spirit of celebrating 80+ years of social work excellence, the LSU School of Social Work faculty, staff, students, and alumni spent the day providing support to two local non-profit organizations in Baton Rouge, St. Vincent DePaul and Youth Oasis. The event, called GEAUX SERVE, consisted of over 75 volunteer from the School of Social Work's Faculty, Staff, Students, and Alumni working on various projects at both agencies.
- "Serving the Stigmatized" - Working Within the Incarcerated EnvironmentAs of 2018, 7.3 million-plus individuals make up the American correctional system while 650,000 of those individuals are released back into our communities every year. Additionally, the book examines 14 specific populations and how to effectively treat them in order to better serve them and our communities.

- Dr. Jen Scott Invited to Participate in Remarkable Research Institute ProgramSchool of Social Work Assistant Professor, Dr. Jennifer Scott, has been selected to participate in the Summer Institute in Migration Research Methods, held at the University of California Berkeley.
- Ashley Gray Selected as 2018 Advisor of the YearAshley Gray was recently named LSU Advisor of the Year by the LSU University College. The award winner was selected by a committee of LSU students, faculty and staff and community leaders from a competitive pool of LSU academic counselors from across campus. LSU Advisor of the Year Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students.
