Findings show residents remain pessimistic about the direction of the state, and confidence in state government remains low.

- LSU Manship School's Undergraduate, Graduate Programs Fully Reaccredited by ACEJMCBATON ROUGE--The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) voted this month for the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication's undergraduate and graduate programs to receive full reaccreditation. ACEJMC concurred with the recommendations for reaccreditation made by the Accrediting Committee and the site team in November 2022.

- LSU Senior Earns Sixth Place in National Journalism CompetitionBATON ROUGE--LSU Manship School of Mass Communication broadcast journalism senior Aria Pons placed sixth in the Television Features II News Competition of the 2022 -- 2023 Hearst Journalism Awards Program. The competition received 77 entries from 47 schools. Pons' win ties for the highest Manship School student's placement in the competition since 2013.
- LSU Senior Birdie O'Connell Receives Louisiana Association of Broadcasters ScholarshipBATON ROUGE--The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters (LAB) recognized LSU Manship School of Mass Communication senior Birdie O'Connell, a Tiger TV sports journalist and Manship Ambassador, with the LAB Broadcast Scholarship at the 2023 LAB Prestige Awards. O'Connell was one of two students in the state to earn the $4,000 scholarship.
- LSU Manship School, Southern Law Students Win National Investigative Reporting AwardBATON ROUGE--Nine students from LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication and the Southern University Law Center have won a national investigative reporting prize for stories re-examining the shooting deaths of two Southern students by a sheriff's deputy in 1972.
